Established in Chamonix since 1860, the Simond brand equipped the first roped parties, such as the one on the first ascent of Everest in 1953, with The Special A Simond ice axe, in the hands of Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay.
Today, Simond continues to design and produce all its metal products (ice axes, crampons, carabiners) in its Chamonix factory. In 2025, the brand expands. Because mountain sports are evolving, blending and combining more and more, Simond is broadening its scope. Our teams focus their technical expertise, rigor and commitment to sustainability on trekking and ski touring, in addition to our traditional mountaineering and climbing activities.
